On November 14th at 7pm at Pelsall Labour Club, Walsall SUE proudly presents Simon Garcia performing live for you. Each month, Walsall SUE offers an evening of music with karaoke and dancing for people with long-term health problems / disabilities.
People enjoy Walsall SUE's Pelsall evenings
Pat Nye, chair of the group, said 'We have been running these evening events now for ten years. We took it over from another group that folded up. We lowered the admission price and kept it low. Now a disabled person and their carer can come in for £5. That includes a light buffet. We have volunteers to run it all.'Sandra Bland who organises it from her desk at SUE's base in Bath Street said 'Each month we get between 65 and 75 people, and their carers. But we can take more. It's getting harder to get people to come out as everyone is feeling squeezed financially. But this is a great chance for disabled people to meet their friends and have a really good time.'
Paul Grocott, who is a volunteer at SUE, said ' People must remember that although this is for people with disabilities and support needs, Walsall SUE does not provide carers - that is why we have carers to come in free, so anyone can bring their own carer.' Several people come out as a family and bring their children.
