Rushall Olympic warmed up for this weekend's FA Trophy game with Wrexham in the best possible style on Saturday.

The Pics produced on of their best displays of the season to crush FC United 4-0 at Gigg Lane.

Hakeem Islam and Dave Walker both scored twice, while the Pics defence and goalkeeper Chris Gemmell put in a solid display to preserve an impressive clean sheet.

Rushall boss Neil Kitching was understandably proud of his players at the final whistle. He told the club's official website: "We were fantastic today, the players put in the effort and intensity required to get a result.

"Our attacking play was electric from the off. Any neutrals watching today's game would have thought Rushall were the home team, we were that convincing.

"We scored in key moments of the game and used our possession wisely. To beat big sides like FC United, you have to be ruthless. For the last few weeks I have asked the lads to be more ruthless and that little more aggressive and today they have delivered. Now we have to deliver that performance week in, week out."

Attention now turns to Saturday's huge clash at Wrexham, with the Pics hoping that a big travelling contingent will follow them to north Wales.

Admission priced for the game have been set at £10 for adults, £5 for concessions and £2 for under 16s.
