It was the ninth successive meeting in which the Pics have beaten the Scholars, and they have today been rewarded with an away tie at Droylsden.
An early Dave Walker double and a further goal from Danny Bragoli saw the Pics safely through despite Gavin Saunders' late consolation for the home side.
The victory is the Pics' first of the month, and will give the side a boost going into tomorrow evening's league clash with Witton Albion.
Next cup opponents Droylsden are currently 19th in the Blue Square North Division - one step above the Pics on the league pyramid.
