Light a candle to remember friends and loved ones

TWO Christmas services invite Walsall residents to come together to remember the lives of loved ones they have lost.
More than 2,300 people attended the St Giles Light up a Life services during December.
An outdoor and church service will be held in the borough as part of this year's St Giles Hospice 'Light Up a Life' campaign.
Services will light up Aldridge Shopping Centre when an outdoor service is held next Saturday, December 8 at 4pm.
A service will then be staged at St Matthew's Church, in Church Hill, Walsall, the following day (Sunday, December 9) at 2pm. Special lights on an enchanting Christmas tree can be dedicated in commemoration of a lost loved one's life. During the poignant services, the lights will be switched on in tribute to those being remembered.
As well as devoting a light, the name of the family member or friend being remembered will also be recorded in a Light Up a Life Book of Memories which will be on display during the services.
Peter Holliday, chief executive for St Giles Hospice, said: "This is a poignant way of reflecting in the company of others at Christmas time and our services are open to everyone."
