THE HISTORY of footwear will be uncovered at a special display currently on show at Walsall Museum.
The small exhibition, which explores the changing footwear for children from the 1890s to the 1990s, includes a pair of sturdy wooden clogs from the late 19th century, utility shoes from the 1940s which were manufactured to wartime regulations, brown leather T-bar sandals from the 1950s and lightweight plimsolls and lace-ups from the 1990s.
The display, which is on show in the Changing Face of Walsall gallery on the first floor of the Central Library and Museum building, runs until October 6. Entry is free.
