BLOXWICH hosted undefeated Market Drayton this week after a week's break.

Bloxwich were really up for this game and started very well, in fact out-played a very strong team.

The first-half was end-to-end but neither team could break the score due to some good defending and goal keeping from both teams so at half-time the score was goalless.

The second-half saw Bloxwich come out strong again as they played some great hockey.

Despite that great start it was Market Drayton who broke the deadlock, after silly umpiring when the visitors' player clearly kicked the ball first.

Soon after Bloxwich was awarded a penalty flick, which Ste Mazurek dispatched by sending the goalkeeper the wrong way.

In an end-to-end half Market Drayton then went 2-1 up due to a defensive error off of a short corner. It proved to be the last goal of an entertaining game.

Bloxwich rounded off a superb first half of the season with a solid 2-0 victory away at Bromsgrove.

Adam McCord and Nathan Booker scored the goals and the victory leaves Bloxwich only three points behind leaders Old Sils.

Phil Foster had a supreme game in midfield and Simon Lunn marshalled the defence superbly.
